My name is David and was "introduced" to your name by the staff at the Heart Institute Pulmonary Rehab center in Joplin. I began rehab there in May after being diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease and will begin appointments in June at Barnes-Jewish to discuss the possibility of Lung transplant. It is always inspiring to hear stories of people like yourself who have been given new life after long years of suffering with a disease. I hope that your recovery is going well and that your days are getting easier and easier. This process for me is new and I spend a lot of time researching and reading. If you were to ever have any advice for me, I would surely appreciate it. I can be found in the Joplin phone book or you can email me at davidmeinershagen@att.net. Once again, I hope that you are doing well!!

Hi my name is Cara and I didnt know much about CF. I am glad I came upon this website. I have a friend with a baby that has it and it just makes you think how short life can be and what we need to do to help make changes in other peoples lives before our own. I hope your transplant happens and goes well for you, I am just sorry that anyone has these kind of problems and so young. Keep your chin up and it will happen for you.

Praying for you...Cara Missouri

Curtis - caught your story in the NTAF newsletter. I'm an RN at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and worked most of my career in Stem Cell/Bone Marrow Transplant. Here's hoping that you get a transplant soon. What talent and passion I see in your work. I'm forwarding it to friends and family so they too can enjoy your gift and maybe pass along a donation. Best regards.

Curtis-I am so sorry that you are having to go through all of this. My son had a double lung transplant in March of this year. He is 37 years old. He is doing very well. He spent his life essentially like you. I am interested in the prices of your pictures. You are a great photographer. I will be praying for you. You sound like a strong individual with family support. Please continue the fight! Don't you ever give up.

Curtis, I've talked with your Mom about some of the options I can investigate for you, such as individual grantmakers and seeking donations. I probably will not be able to get in touch with too many people before your fundraiser at Banner, but with the large amount of funds necessary for the transplant, I'm sure there will be future fundraisers. Keep the faith and never, never give up. You and the rest of your family are in our prayers.

Curtis I read your story and touched by this. I'm brain storming on having a fund raiser. I will get with you soon to see if I can make something happen. I have some resources available to me and so I need to put it all together to see if I can come with a plan to organize a fund raiser in Joplin.
